Nottingham Forest has dismissed head coach Ange Postecoglou just 39 days into his tenure after failing to secure a win in eight matches under his leadership. The decision followed a 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea. Forest confirmed the Australian's departure in a brief statement without further comment.
Postecoglou, who signed a two-year contract on September 9, succeeded Nuno Espirito Santo but struggled with the team's challenges, recording six losses and two draws. During his time, Forest conceded 11 goals from set pieces and failed to score in three consecutive home games, a first since 1998.
After the latest defeat, Postecoglou left the stadium without speaking to the media, and the club soon announced his release. Forest players were called to a meeting followed by a locker room discussion lasting about an hour.
