Sean Dyche is set to become the new manager of Nottingham Forest after reaching a verbal agreement with the club. Negotiations progressed swiftly on Sunday evening, and Dyche is expected to prepare the team for their upcoming Europa League match against Porto. While some legal details remain and documents are yet to be signed, his appointment could be confirmed later today.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis considered several candidates, including Roberto Mancini and Marco Silva, after Ange Postecoglou was dismissed just 39 days into his tenure. Despite Silva being a long-time favorite, financial constraints made it difficult to pay compensation for a new manager, following significant payouts for Nuno Espirito Santo and Postecoglou's departures.

Marinakis recognizes the importance of this appointment for the club's stability and confidence. Forest spent over £180 million on new players this summer, though many were absent in the match against Chelsea. Dyche is seen as the right person to organize and motivate the team, ensuring the club's survival in the Premier League.
