Substitute Przemysław Płacheta scored a dramatic late equalizer to secure a 2-2 draw for Oxford against a high-flying Millwall side, preventing the Lions from claiming their fifth consecutive Championship victory. Alex Neil's team seemed poised for three points until Płacheta struck a low left-footed shot from 15 yards, sneaking it past Max Crocombe at the near post.

Tierno Ballo put the Lions ahead in the 11th minute with his first goal for the club since joining from Austria's Wolfsberger in September. Cameron Brannagan leveled the score just before halftime with a stunning 20-yard strike following a pass from Stan Mills, capping off a brilliant Oxford move. In the 66th minute, Oxford goalkeeper Jamie Cumming failed to hold onto a shot from Tristan Krahmer, allowing Jake Cooper to capitalize and restore the visitors' lead by slotting into an empty net.

Despite Crocombe's impressive save from a powerful Brannagan free-kick, he was powerless to stop Płacheta's fierce low drive in the sixth minute of added time. Buoyed by their recent success against Sheffield Wednesday, Oxford started the match aggressively, with Will Vaulks' long throws causing problems for the visitors' defense. Dutch midfielder Bryan De Keersmaecker also tested Crocombe with a powerful shot, but the keeper dealt with it comfortably.

Millwall showcased their strength from set-pieces, with Cooper and Krahmer coming close to scoring with headers from corners. However, Oxford finished the first half on a high, as Brannagan saw his long-range effort deflected before scoring the equalizer.

The second half began cautiously, with both defenses holding firm. Millwall controlled possession before their second goal, but Cumming will be disappointed not to have handled the slippery ball better. Oxford manager Gary Rowett made a triple substitution to inject fresh energy into his side, which ultimately paid off.

From a sporting perspective, this match highlighted Oxford's resilience, as they refused to give up even in the dying moments. Millwall will need to work on maintaining their leads if they hope to continue their successful run in the league.
