Dani Röhl is back in contention for the Rangers head coach position after talks with Kevin Muscat fell through. Röhl had initially withdrawn from the process, believing other candidates were favored, but now has a chance following the exit of Muscat and Steven Gerrard from the race. The club has been in discussions with several candidates, with a decision expected soon as Rangers prepare to face Brann in the Europa League, where they have yet to secure a win this season.
Röhl, 36, impressed the Ibrox management during summer negotiations. He previously led Sheffield Wednesday to a 12th-place finish in the Championship and has served as an assistant coach at RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich, and the German national team.
The deal with Muscat fell apart due to scheduling issues, as his start date could have been delayed until December. Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard also withdrew due to timing conflicts. The club is under pressure after Russell Martin's dismissal, with interim coach Steven Smith overseeing a 2-2 draw against Dundee United. Fans have expressed frustration with the appointment process, criticizing the club's management.
