Kevin Muscat is a leading candidate for the manager position at Rangers, with the club also in talks with other potential candidates. Currently managing Shanghai Port in China, Muscat is highly regarded by the Scottish club's management as they seek a replacement for Russell Martin. Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Röhl is also in consideration.
After Steven Gerrard withdrew from the process, Muscat and Röhl have emerged as the primary options. Muscat, who has experience as a player at Rangers and is currently leading his team towards a title in China, might be appointed after the Chinese league season ends. In the interim, Neil McCann could serve as a temporary solution.
Rangers dismissed Russell Martin after just 123 days following a draw with Falkirk, leaving the team eighth in the Scottish Premiership. The upcoming match against Dundee United is being prepared by U19 coach Steven Smith.
Other names mentioned for the position include Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Graham Potter, though there are no confirmed negotiations with them. The club's management continues to explore various options to stabilize the team and restore its winning spirit.
