Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has sharply criticized Liam Delap following his red card in the match against Wolves, describing his actions as "very foolish and shameful." Delap, who returned from injury, came on as a substitute in the second half of the Carabao Cup clash but was sent off just 25 minutes later after receiving a second yellow card. This was his first appearance since August 30. The striker was booked in the 79th minute for shoving Yerson Mosquera off the ball, and just seven minutes later, he elbowed Emmanuel Agbadu.

This marked Chelsea's fifth red card of the season, and Maresca did not hide his disappointment, stating, "A very foolish red card that was completely unnecessary. Absolutely deserved. We can avoid this." The coach was particularly frustrated because he had warned Delap to stay calm after his first yellow card. Now, the player will miss the upcoming Premier League match against Tottenham.

Despite the setback, Chelsea managed to secure a 4-3 victory. Goals for the visitors came from Andrey Santos, Tyrique George, and Estevao in the first half. Wolves narrowed the gap with strikes from Tolu Arokodare and David Moller Wolfe. Jamie Gittens scored an impressive volley in the 89th minute to seal the win, but Wolfe quickly netted his second goal, leading to a tense finish.

Analysis: Chelsea's disciplinary issues are a cause for concern, especially with the team's busy schedule. Maresca needs to find a way to manage his players' emotions and prevent similar incidents in the future, which could prove costly for the team.
