West Bromwich Albion climbed back into the Championship's top six with a 2-1 victory over Preston at The Hawthorns. Mikey Johnston opened the scoring with a stunning 25-meter strike in the first half, and Isaac Price added a second after the break, securing the win for the hosts. Preston, who were unbeaten in their last five matches, managed a late goal through Michael Smith but couldn't find an equalizer.
West Brom's goalkeeper Josh Griffiths made several crucial saves, including a key stop against Ben Whiteman. Preston missed several opportunities, and their goalkeeper, Stefan Iversen, also had to make decisive interventions. Despite the win being only West Brom's second since August, it is significant for their push up the standings.
