Morocco will host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after Guinea was stripped of the rights due to inadequate infrastructure. The decision was announced by CAF President Patrice Motsepe in September 2022. The tournament will run from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, marking the first time it coincides with the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Matches will be held in six Moroccan cities across nine stadiums. Defending champions Ivory Coast, who won a dramatic final against Nigeria, will compete in Group F alongside Cameroon, Gabon, and Mozambique. Other notable teams like Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, and Algeria will vie for the prestigious trophy.

The tournament kicks off on December 21 with Morocco facing Comoros in Rabat, with the group stage concluding on December 31. The knockout stages will follow, culminating in the final on January 18, 2026.
