Swindon striker Aaron Drinan is in remarkable form this season, scoring eight league goals and maintaining a streak of six consecutive matches with goals. He is on par with Coventry's Haji Wright, while only Erling Haaland has more goals—nine—across the top four divisions in English football. At 27, this is Drinan's second-best career achievement with just 10 matches played. Nicknamed "Drinaldo" by Swindon fans, he was named League Two Player of the Month for September.
This impressive form follows a challenging period for the Irish player. After a 3-3 draw with Port Vale in February, Drinan suffered a posterior cruciate ligament injury, sidelining him for the rest of the season. Although surgery was considered, specialists recommended a conservative treatment involving rehabilitation over the summer, which he used to regain peak fitness.
Despite missing a 1-0 win over Newport due to an Achilles issue, Drinan remains optimistic about further improving his form. He aims to score 20 goals this season, a personal record, and help Swindon secure promotion to League One. The team is currently second in League Two with a game in hand, positioning them well for promotion.
