Erling Haaland continues to impress with his remarkable scoring form, netting a hat-trick for Norway in their 5-0 World Cup qualifying win against Israel. This brings his season total to 21 goals for both club and country. Despite missing a penalty in the first half, Haaland scored twice more, reaching 50 goals in 46 matches for Norway. The other two goals were own goals by Israeli players Anan Khalaili and Idan Nachmias.
Before the match in Oslo, around 1,000 people protested in support of Palestine, marching to the stadium with flags and banners. Only 3,000 spectators were allowed inside under heightened security measures.
Elsewhere, Spain and Italy also continued their strong World Cup qualifying campaigns. Spain defeated Georgia 2-0 with goals from Yeremy Pino and Mikel Oyarzabal, while Italy overcame Estonia 3-1, with goals from Moise Kean, Mateo Retegui, and Francesco Pio Esposito.
Haaland's impressive performances put him on track to break numerous records in both national and club football, with the potential to become one of the greatest goal scorers in the sport's history.
