Former Premier League referee David Coote has pleaded guilty in a Nottingham court to charges of creating an indecent image of a child. The 43-year-old appeared in court regarding a Category A video, the most serious level, discovered by police in February. Coote, from Collingham, was released on conditional bail and is scheduled to reappear in court on December 11. A pre-sentence report will be prepared, and the seriousness of the charge means a prison sentence is possible. Coote was dismissed from the Professional Game Match Officials Limited in December after a video surfaced of his comments about former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp from 2020, for which he received an eight-week ban from the Football Association in August.
